News of the week: EA, Take-Two, Cisco
Electronic Arts is in the process of developing console versions of board game blockbusters Monopoly and Scrabble. Both are set to be released this year.
Call me old fashioned, but I want my video games to be video game-y and my board games to be tangible and feature cute little pewter doggies and wooden letter tiles that can be manipulated when the other player takes a pee break….
Take-Two Interactive sued the Chicago Transit Authority Monday for pulling its GTA IV ads from its busses and display spaces. The company has claimed the CTA violated its free-speech and contractual rights, according to Reuters. The suit seeks reinstatement of the ads and monetary damages of at least $300,000…
Cisco opened the EDGE QUEST game tournament Monday and is set to remain open through June 11 for qualifying. The top 100 players as of June 11 will take part in a tournament featuring new levels of the game. The winner will receive $10,000 and a $35,000 Aggregation Service 1000 Router.
The router maker designed the game, in which players (known as “agents”) maneuver a “Router Craft” through various levels to defend the network from service demands. Players, ahem, “agents” pick up packets to score points….
