The Who go Rock Band, Wall-e gets game makeover
If Guns ‘n’ Roses isn’t your cup of tea and you can’t get into the newest gaming revolution, there may be some help for you. Twelve Who tracks will be available for download July 15th for Rock Band. Including “My Generation” and “Who Are You,” the songs may entice another genre of music lover to play the game.
The addition comes on the heels of Guitar Hero’s launch of a 30-song Aerosmith collection last Friday. Of note, there have been talks of adding The Beatles catalog to one of the gaming platforms…
If you’ve seen Pixar’s Wall-e and couldn’t get enough of the mostly silent movie star, you’ll now be able to play him across various gaming platforms. The console version, offered on the Wii Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, offers 9 play levels and relives the movie through cut scenes. Versions available for Leapfrog and the Nintendo DS appeal to a younger crowd and in Leapfrog’s situation, add an extra educational lesson within the game.
On an aside, having seen the movie a few days ago, I have to say I think it is Pixar’s best effort yet. Considering the first third of the movie or so features little to no dialog, they did a tremendous job at creating an amazing expressive hero and sidekick. And, as usual, they’ve managed to create a meaningful story, much like with Monsters Inc., that will hopefully have an effect on the youth that will go to see it.
